Dear Vultures Parents, Coaches and Team Managers,
As we head into the Summer 25/26 season awards, we continue the tradition of recognising the wide range of contributions players make across their teams.
As in previous seasons, our end-of-season awards are coach-nominated and designed to highlight not just overall performance, but effort, teamwork, defence, improvement, and the positive energy players bring to their team.
We are again including award categories that celebrate all types of players.
Whether it’s the tireless defensive standout who may not be the MVP, the teammate who lifts the group with their enthusiasm, or the MVP themselves.
Coaches will select both the recipients and the award category that best reflects each player’s impact across the season, allowing them to share the story of what these players have achieved.
Each team will receive two awards to ensure consistency and fairness across the club.
Some of the Key points are:
- Coaches will choose the 2 award recipients per team (No Additional award requests will be granted)
- Coaches will choose what the award is for from the allocated list
- Voting is not required
- Awards are based on performance across the whole season
- Awards will be ready for the coach to present in team groups at the upcoming Presentation day on the 29th March 2PM – 4PM
Current Award Categories include:
- MVP
- Coaches Award
- Team Spirit Award
- Best Defensive Player
- Best Team Player
- Most Determined Player
- Most Improved Player
- Most Versatile Player
- Team Steals Award
- Team Rebounding Award
IMPORTANT
These awards are intended to celebrate the many different ways players contribute to their team.
Coaches are encouraged to look across the group and consider a variety of players throughout the season, recognising effort, improvement, teamwork and attitude, not just scoring or standout moments.
This approach helps ensure more players feel seen and valued, while highlighting the different strengths and growth within the team.
Further, the MVP Award is not to be used for U8 teams – this age group is about development and not who is the best player in the team.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out, we look forward to celebrating the teams and their achievements at the
Summer Presentation Day on the 29th March, 2PM – 4PM
