A new committee in 2023

Well, how about that… the first 3 months of 2023 have almost evaporated right before our eyes! Crazy hey.

We just wanted to give a little insight in to the state of affairs with Vermont Vultures Basketball club.

There has recently been, somewhat of a changing of the guard with committee, with a handful of long-standing members choosing to step down as their children are approaching the end of their VV careers. We honestly can’t thank them enough for the service over the years.

But with that comes new blood! And we’re working hard to get on with things.

We have 5 new committee members joining the club in readiness for the Winter 2023 season.

Matt Cavell is now the Vice-President after a year in the Treasurer roll.
Kusum Mirchandani has taken up the role of Club Secretary.
The new Treasurer is Matt Hall.
Club Administrator role is now Toni Saward.
Megan Laing has taken up a new role as Registrar.
And I’ve stepped in as the Comm’s guy, with assistance from Derrick Qin

Remaining from 2022, Gavin Catto is the MEBA Representative, Gareth Rowell is in the Venues Manager role, the Coaching Co-ordinator is still Matt Cavell, Frankie Blank is on Uniforms with assistance from Melinda Payne and of course, Ashley Brown remains our Club President.

Beyond this, we have a wonderful group of Age Group Co-ordinators, managing over 100 teams each season, plus we have all the amazing coaches and team managers, and we’re grateful for the assistance they offer. It really is quite an awesome community.

So, I guess, the main reason I wanted to reach out was to request patience and understanding whilst the new crew find their feet.

I myself, am relatively new to the BBall world with my son playing U10 this season. I’ve absolutely loved getting on board and supporting the club. It’s just a sharp learning curve. That said, I believe there is a truly united vision with committee and only good things are to come.

To give a few insights, we have a big ‘Vulture’s Day’ planned for later in the year, we’re going to rebuild the website, we’ve new systems being put in place for information distribution and we’re going to streamline the process of award voting.

So yeah, lots of exciting things are happening at VVBC at the moment and we’re excited to have you all along for the ride.

Here’s to a big Winter 2023 season!

Cheers,

Jase (the comm’s guy)
