With a new committee stepping in around this time last year, we simply didn’t have the resources and experience to bring a presentation event together. But it was from these ashes that Vultures Day rose and we’re pleased to say that it was a huge success.
That being said, we put out the call to our basketball community and the consensus was that a presentation event at the end of the summer season {as well as Winter} was a must and so we’re very pleased to announce that the date has been set and the venue booked for the Summer season awards presentations! We just need to figure out how many kilos of sausages to order!
This season’s award presentations will be done in a slightly different format and we’re trying a different timeslot.
Rather than a centre start presentation, each age group is invited to come along at a specific time, then break off into team groups for each coach and/or team manager to present trophies and awards. We’ve allowed lots of space at SportLink Vermont South so there should be a great buzz to the event.
Given it’s a twilight event, we’ll be putting on a free sausage sizzle, plus there will be drinks available to purchase. Our wonderful uniforms co-ordinator, Flick will also have Vultures merchandise available to purchase on the night (not uniforms).
There should also be some space for free shooting on one or two of the outdoor courts.
Just for the sake of clarity, this is not Vultures Day or a replacement for Vultures Day. They’re different events and the latter is scheduled for mid-September.

Under 8’s – 4:15pm
Under 10’s – 5:00pm
Under 12’s – 5:45pm
Under 14’s & 16’s – 6:30pm
*The timeslot’s are guide for when we will start each age group. We’ll start off together and then teams and coaches/tms will acknowledge their players and present trophies.
It would be super helpful for planning to know our estimated attendance for the event so if you could register at the event page we’ve setup, that would be super dooper!
Note: There is quite a lot going on at the venue this day so expect some challenges with parking and perhaps allow extra time if you’re meeting your team-mates at a specific time.
