Vermont Vultures Training – Heat Policy

Vermont Vultures Training Heat Policy 2024/25

VVBC Training Heat Policy is as follows:

30-35 degrees, training is to go ahead. Coaches are to modify drills and shorten drill times. Water and rest breaks are frequently required. In saying this, coaches have the ability to cancel training at their discretion based on court and other factors.

35 and above, training is canceled.

The committee will make the decision 24 hours before that night’s training is to begin and will use the Bureau of Meteorology Website to make the decision. If the temperature is 35 degrees or above at 4pm the following day then training will be canceled at all venues.

In some circumstances a cold change may come through later that evening, but all training will still be canceled as courts would still be hot, and we would have to give prior notification to schools to lock\secure their venues for the whole evening.

An Email and Facebook Post should go out at the start of Summer Season each year to remind all members about the heat rules based around 30-35 degree temperatures as well as 35+ temperatures

Note: Heat Policies for games are controlled by the facilities, MEBA and GEBC – not the Vermont Vultures.
