In late March this year, we hosted the inaugural Vermont Vultures Twilight Presentation Day at Sportlink in Vermont South. It is safe to say it was a success between, over 200 awards, countless bouncing basketballs, 700 sizzling sausages, and dodging what seemed to be close to 200 rollerbladers!
Approximately 100 teams descended upon Sportlink, ready to spend time with their teams, talk about school holiday plans and celebrate another great season at the Vultures. But before the presentations began, there was one crucial order of business: the sausage sizzle! Giving away record numbers of sausages, thank you to everyone who helped out and got covered in grease!
The merchandise table saw roaring success, again with record merchandise sales, we all look forward to seeing all the players, coaches, and parents in their weekend uniform! Thanks to those who helped out, purchased some additional merchandise, and it’s great to see the support for the vultures, from not only players.
Behind the scenes, none of this would have been possible without the tireless dedication of volunteers, committee members, players, team managers, and coaches. Their unwavering commitment to the club is truly fantastic. From setting up courts to flipping sausages to organising presentations, awards and games, their efforts ensured that the event ran like clockwork.
Congratulations to all the awards winners, and all the teams that managed to make it through to finals! We have grown again this season, and are looking forward to spending more time as a club, and recognising the great supporters that are actively involved in the club.
As we approached the end of a very successful Presentation Day, there was a moment of reflection. The Vermont Vultures Basketball Club is more than just a team; it’s a community fuelled by passion and teamwork. It’s a reminder that the club thrives because of the dedication of its volunteers.
Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate the next chapter in the Vultures’ story: Vultures Day 2024. With the support of our volunteers and the continued commitment of everyone involved, we’re ready to put on another great event for our Vultures family.
